Garbage Bags - Compostable and Biodegradable

Oxo-Biodegradable agent will be added to all of our existing standard line of Industrial strength Black and Clear can liners. New product which contains the Oxo additive will be clearly identified with a label on the outside of the corrugate case.  New corrugate packaging will be implanted once our current inventory of corrugate is depleted.

What’s best for you!

Compostable Plastics are ideally suited for the environmentally safe discard of organic trash: Kitchen Organics, Leaves, Paper etc. Are all examples of organic materials that will biodegrade in Compost Facilities in place within certain municipalities.

Oxo-Biodegradable Plastics are ideally suited for the environmentally responsible discard of all types of regular trash that cannot be recycled or will not decompose (organic material). Garbage that will end up in a landfill should be disposed of in Oxo-Biodegradable garbage bags. This helps to reduce the volume of trash within the landfills.

Our supplier  is proud to bring you our Green LineTM of environmentally friendly kitchen and industrial strength bags. Manufactured to include some of the most cutting edge resins, the Green LineTM garbage bags give you a wide range of applications all designed to be as environmentally safe and responsible as possible.

They also use as much Recycled Materials in their production as possible. This helps to further reduce the ecological footprint of their plastic film. The ReverteTM Oxo-biodegradable additive technology they implement breaks down the polymer chains within the plastic, all while being able to fully control the product lifecycle.

No More Guessing!

Here is a list of definitions you need to know to make an informed decision when it comes to degradable film and help clear up the confusion out there. These definitions derive from ASTM D6400 and are specific to plastics.

Compostable Plastic: a plastic that undergoes degradation by biological processes during composting to yield carbon dioxide, water, inorganic compounds, and biomass at a rate consistent with other known compostable materials and leave no visible, distinguishable or toxic residue.

Degradable Plastic: a plastic designed to undergo a significant change in its chemical structure under specific environmental conditions, resulting in a loss of some properties that may be measured by standard test methods appropriate to the plastic and the application in a period of time that determines its classification.

Biodegradable Plastic: a degradable plastic in which the degradation results from the action of naturally occurring microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and algae.

Oxo-Biodegradable Plastic: A two-stage process in which plastic is first converted by reaction with oxygen to molecular fragments that are water wettable. Oxo-Biodegradable plastic will first undergo chemical degradation by oxidation. This results in physical disintegration and a drastic reduction in molecular weights. Second, these smaller oxidized molecules are biodegraded and converted into carbon dioxide, water and biomass, by microorganisms. These smaller, lower molecular weight fragments are then amenable to biodegradation by microbes.

ASTM D6002 defines compostable as: Capable of undergoing biological decomposition in a compost site as part of an available program, such that the material is not visually distinguishable and breaks down into carbon dioxide, water, inorganic compounds, and biomass, at a rate consistent with known compostable materials.

Disintegrate: Material is indistinguishable in the compost, i.e. not visible and does not need to be screened out

Eco-toxicity: Biodegradation does not produce any toxic material and compost (hummus) can support plant growth. Measured by concentration of heavy metals below limits set by the standards and testing of plant growth.

Biodegrades: A substance that breaks down into carbon dioxide, water and biomass.

ASTM: The American Society for Testing and Materials.

Green LineTM: Line of 100% degradable plastic Products using either fully Compostable or Oxo-Biodegradable inputs.
